The church was solely founded by the spiritual head and General overseer , The most Dynamic Leader king Dr.Samylo on the 28th April 1978 directly opposite the Torugbene grammar school,the headquarters was named Israello Zion in reminiscence to his earlier song and vision in 1976In the 1976 c/s church new year convention,Rev.Dr.Samylo and sir salazy went to Rev.Ap.Royal Ogboloseri to confirm whether the song is in line with the scriptures and Rev.Ap.ogboseri confirm that its Israel peoples Zion,Thus the name israello Zion was named on that fateful day.,He (Samylo) it after the song.
Earlier before his (Samylo) crossing to his settlement at Israello Zion,there were some break away groups in Aleibiri and Is am pou. The Aleibiri group had already named their church as Christian church .when they ( Aleibiri group) saw that Samylo spiritual works had no equal,they teamed up with the isampou group to join him.they sat as one to give name to the organization,the other group (Isampou) also projected their name but he (Samylo) them that until they will add united before the Angels will move with the church.
Thus the name Christian united church of Zion was established.
In 1978,the church had five branches,and below are the names.
* Israello Zion.
*Aleibiri church
*Isampou church
*Amanagbene church &
*Kpakiama church.
The church had its first new year convention in January 1979 and gradually it grew from strength to strength and has spread over Bayelsa,Delta,Rivers,ondo state and across the whole country.
The church was officially registered in the federal ministry of internal Affairs as body incorporated in 1985 with its registered trustees.The certificate of incorporation was signed and handed over to Elder, District Apostle Brialade B.K in November 22nd, 1985 by the hands of the minister ,Internal Affairs then Lt.col.John Nazzip shagaya.
The church training school UNITED SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY was opened in 1986 and the first graduates were fifty-there(53),Fifty one boys and two girls. Elder B.K brialade was the pioneer rector and principal before he handed over to Elder ,supervisory,District Apostle Dr.E.England.
The church first had Apostle Adaba Rida ( James Enewarebo salo) as secretary general until 1983 and Elder,E.E as Deputy .In 1983,Elder B.K brialade became the second secretary general and still with Elder E.England as Deputy and Elder England became the Secretary general until 1992 and so on.
